About this Event

After a very successful ski trip last year, the Postdoc Associations of Caltech, UCLA, and USC are happy to announce our second joint schools Postdoc Ski Trip to Mountain High Resort (http://www.mthigh.com/site)! Date: Saturday, February 29th, 2020. We are inviting all postdocs and their families to join us. We have secured a discounted group rate for lift tickets, lesson packages, and ski/snowboard rentals.

Family with kids (age 3-10) can also enjoy the Children’s Sports Center at a discounted price!

Join your fellow postdocs for a fun day of skiing/snowboarding! I you would like to come and hang out on the Mountain, but don’t ski or snowboard, please join us and enjoy the beautiful views and snow! If a number of attendees chose this option, we may be able to coordinate a snow hike. We will also be providing snacks and drinks around lunchtime for all who join us!

To streamline logistics, you may register free of charge on Eventbrite until Monday February 17th at midnight. You will then receive an email from the organizers with instructions for payment. Payment will be accepted via Venmo, Zelle (through most major banks) or cash in person to a PDA member.

***Your order is not complete until you have paid for your reservation (instructions in email after registration) by Thursday February 20th. 

Cancellations and refunds will be provided up to 3 days in advance (February 26th, 2020). If you cannot commit until after this date, you are welcome to join us, but you will have to purchase your own, non-discounted, ticket from Mountain High directly). Please RSVP and select the number of each type of ticket you will need to secure your discounted tickets.

Time: We will meet at 7:30AM at Mountain High – return at 5:30/6PM. (Arrive between 7-7:30am to ensure a parking spot at the West Resort. The parking lot fills up by 8AM).

Lift tickets:

Adult 8-Hr Lift Ticket—$65 per person

Child 8-hr Lift Ticket (ages 7-12)—$39 per person

Child 8-hr Lift Ticket (ages 6 and younger)—one free per paid adult; be prepared to show birth certificate

Ski/snow board Rental:

Adult $35

Child(ages 4-12)$25

***There is an option to arrange your own rentals through a 3rd party at a slightly lower cost. However, you must arrange reservation, payment and pick-up, drop-off on your own. Beginner lesson Packages:

1.All Day Beginner Package (ages 13+)$105.00

Includes two- 1 hour and 45 minute beginner lessons (1st lesson 9am or 10am. 2nd lesson at 1pm), ski or snowboard rentals and 8-hr lower mountain lift ticket (chairs 1, 2, 3, 10 and car-pets ONLY)

2.Half Day Beginner Package (ages 13+), $95.00

Includes a 1 hour and 45 minute beginner lesson, ski or snowboard

rentals and 8-hr lower mountain lift ticket (chairs 1, 2, 3, 10 and carpets ONLY).

3.Children’s Sports Center – Full Day (ages 4-12; Lesson w/lunch 10am – 3pm) $129.00

Includes a full day of lessons, ski or snowboard rentals, 8-hr ALL mountain lift ticket, lunch and progress card.

4.Children’s Sports Center (half day) (ages 4-12; Lesson 1-3pm only) $99.00

Includes a 2-hr lesson, ski or snowboard rentals, 8-hr ALL mountain lift ticket and progress card.

5.Ski & Snowboard Lesson (ages 13+; group lesson per ability level) $45.00
